[TEACHING / JOB] Interactive Art Instructor, Art in Your Space

Art in Your Space seeking a co-teacher for an innovative 6 week program for high school students to design an interactive art project for a co-working space.

The Art in Your Space Program will introduce group of up to 15 City-As-School students to 21st century work environments while they learn valuable STEAM skills such as design, prototyping, applied electronics, and fabrication.  A teaching artist from Eyebeam, a co-teacher, and mentors will support the student in creating an interactive art installation in a business incubation space.

The potential end product can be a wall design, an extension of a piece of furniture, or integrated into the existing workspace architecture.   During this process, students will have the opportunity to not only interact with teaching artists to develop a product, but also gain exposure to various members of the incubation space to learn about careers in entrepreneurship and technology.  There will be an art-opening / unveiling to culminate this project.

This is a paid position. .  Classes will be held from 1-4 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting February 25 ending April 3 at City As School, a co-working space, other office spaces, and Eyebeam

This will be the first time running this program.  Therefore passion, creativity, and dedication to helping teens at risk of dropping out improve their career trajectories and learn about technology and art is a must. Your role will be to work with the Eyebeam instructor to design lessons and guide students in the creation of an interactive art project for a NYC co-working space.
