Graduate Architectural Design Studio Processing Consultant:
This position is to supplement an graduate architectural design studio experimenting with processing as a parametric design language to generation relational and responsive forms. The Design consultant role is to provide the design expertise in assisting the team’s project goals and methods for the generation of a physical designed objects and structures. The consultant is part of a group of consultants, engineering, facade, environmental who collaborate with the studio (student teams) to introduce collaborative team design.
– Introduction Session – Designing form with Processing.
– Workshop instruction of Parametric Design and Modeling and Digital Fabrication. Incorporation of Rhino (Students have basic knowledge and skill with 3d modeling and some parametric operations (Rhino/Grasshopper) Instruction in the use of libraries.
– Data and Parametric Incorporation of relational and generative data into the design process.
– Structure: In person 2 – 3 workshops, tutorials, remote assistance via Skype / Hangouts addressing questions from teams.
