[JOB] Half Time Mobile Apps Developer, North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System

This position reports to ITP adjunct professor Frederick Muench and the development team

Position summary:

Participates in the design, development and implementation of consumer facing web and mobile web applications to improve research capabilities and mental health interventions.
Responsibilities:
We are looking for an energetic developer to join our team half-time to help us build mobile ready sites and applications for data collection and intervention in our research studies and clinical services. You will have a wonderful opportunity to work with research and clinical staff and build a career in digital health development in mental health and addiction services – one of the fastest growing fields.
Responsibilities:
• Develop scalable web applications using PHP, HTML5, CSS and Javascript
• Work with Research and Clinical Staff, Designers, Web and Mobile Architects other Developers to implement responsive mobile web designs.
• Help manage databases with special emphasis on importing data from different sources including the hospital EHR.
• Familiarity using open source code to development mobile ready assessments.
• Follow corporate development standards and procedures during the development process.
• Work as part of an agile team of health professionals, designers and IT professionals within the hospital system.
Experience and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, required.
• 2+ years experience developing enterprise scale web applications software
• Demonstrated expertise with PHP, HTML5, CSS3, Javascript and Responsive Web Design
• Familiarity with node.js and angular.js
• Experience using different frameworks and RESTful APIs with a clear understanding of software development best practices
• Understanding of CMS such as WordPress, drupal and/or square space
• Demonstrated experience working with teams using agile methodologies
• Experience managing web services and cloud based secure hosting.
• Experience with MySQL and other databases.
