[CALL] #VisualizeChange – A United Nations World Humanitarian Summit Data Visualization Challenge

Dear ITP Tisch colleagues:

We are excited to share with you that the United Nations World Humanitarian Summit Data Visualization Challenge #VisualizeChange has launched, and we’d love for you and your student networks to get involved:http://bit.ly/VisualizeChange

The first-ever World Humanitarian Summit is a call to action by United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to reduce human loss and suffering from crises. During the intensive public consultation period for the summit, thousands of people worldwide have shared their ideas to make humanitarian efforts more effective. To that end, the challenge now is to create a dynamic visualization asset based on the data collected during these consultations to inform the summit.

The winner will get the opportunity to present the work at the World Humanitarian Summit Global Consultation on 14-16 October 2015 in Geneva, Switzerland. Short-listed visualizations will be show-cased at events around the world. The deadline for submissions is 30 August 2015 with a likely extension for another week.

We would be keen to having you being part of #VisualizeChange and submit a visualization. We would also most value your support in spreading the word. Please refer to the Communication and Social Media Package for sharing with your community and networks: https://goo.gl/SqbqNK

Thank you very much in advance!

Don’t hesitate to get in touch in case you have any questions: visualizechange@whsummit.org

Cheers,
