We just launched an online hackathon with Wacom that lets hackers create apps with a digital inking layer. I thought your students might like to take part. Can you help me spread the word?
The Inkathon asks developers and designers to create apps using the new Wacom Ink Layer Language (WILL) SDK. WILL is a cross-platform inking interface that allows users to write, draw, and collaborate across devices using their finger or a Wacom-enabled pen. The platform provides high quality, universal inking expression, and can be used with any device — no special hardware is necessary.
Digital ink opens up the possibilities for personal expression in apps — features like a digital whiteboard for team collaboration; an interface that lets users draw their own emojis; or online contracts that allow users to add handwritten signatures.
There are over $51,000 in prizes, and the top five finalists will receive flight and accommodation to the winners announcement at CES 2016 in Las Vegas.
