[JOB] Program manager, VICE

VICE is looking for a dynamic program manager to join our team in our Brooklyn, NY Office. The program manager works closely with and in support of the product and development teams to research, plan, organize and execute the creation of VICE’s world-class media and technology products.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Lend product and project support on specific initiatives, spanning across the product team portfolio, to support the Vice digital properties roadmap.

  • Track project milestones in a way best suited to the project and communicate changes in project scope and timeline to larger team.

  • Assists Product leads with keeping project documentation up to date.

  • Assist Product leads with data analysis, competitive analysis & user research for new products.

  • Assists Product leads with triaging bug reports, feature requests and account maintenance across the company.

  • Runs meetings with technology team such as daily stand ups, sprint planning and review, backlog grooming and other project related meetings.

  • Works closely with developers, internally or externally, to implement new features and resolve defects efficiently.

  • Communicate with QA and Release management to make sure that launches are tracked and that stakeholders are informed.

  • Develop features specs and write acceptance criteria for user stories, to assist in backlog maintenance.

  • Assists Dir. of Program Management in developing and rolling out department wide process changes and improvements.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Professional experience working a digital technology and/or media company.

  • Enthusiasm for collaboration.

  • Working knowledge of software development and documentation tools such as Confluence, JIRA and standard measurement platforms such as Google Analytics, etc.

  • Experience working with Agile software development and familiarity with lean principles a huge plus.

  • Proficient project management capabilities and ability to meet aggressive deadlines.

  • Excellent communication skills and not shy leading meetings

  • Keen attention to detail an ability to find gaps and holes where others do not.
