The Royal Asiatic Society Library seeks assistance in organizing several early 20th century Shanghai resident directories already preserved in jpeg files. We would like the files unified and converted to searchable, character-recognition software. Several volumes of the RAS academic journal should also be digitally preserved, preferably with a camera (not a scanner, which will damage the journal spines).
We encourage any student (of any major) with the necessary tech skills to apply. Applicants may send their C.V.s to me (bac10@nyu.edu), or find the posting for this internship on NYUCareerNet (# 1005193).
The RAS is flexible, inviting applications from students seeking holiday, semester-long, or year-long (or longer) internships.
Much thanks for your help,
