INTERN: Met MediaLab unpaid internship

Unpaid Summer Internship

June 6–August 12, 2015
All interns must begin their internship within the first week of the overall internship program and must end their internship within the last two weeks of the internship program. One of the internship days must be a Friday.

We are able to offer a very limited number of unpaid summer internships to students who are ineligible for or do not wish to participate in the full-time MuSE Program. These internships may be part-time, but must include a minimum of twelve hours per week, and interns must participate in a mandatory half-day internship program once per week on Friday mornings. Interns may be placed in any Museum department, depending on their interests and skills, as described above. Request a full list of possible internship placement areas.

Please note that the limited number of unpaid internships during the summer depends upon the availability of staff resources and internship projects.

Eligibility: Unpaid internships are available to undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled in a degree-granting program, as well as recent graduates. To be considered a recent graduate, applicants must have graduated no more than twelve months before the application deadline. PhD students may be eligible to apply within the first twelve months of their program, provided that they have not yet achieved candidacy. PhD candidates are not eligible for internships. If you are unsure about your PhD student eligibility, contact us.

There is no fee to apply for an unpaid internship.
Application deadline: March 27, 2016, 11:59 p.m. (ET)
Notification: First week of May, 2016
If you are applying to the MuSe Internship Program and also wish to be considered for an unpaid internship, you must complete the unpaid internship application separately. You may re-use the same essays and documents wherever applicable.

Apply online.
