JOB: 92Y Teaching Opportunities

I’m writing again because I’m searching for an afterschool instructor who could take over our children’s architecture and design classes.  These are hands-on classes that focus on creating objects with found materials to gain a greater appreciation of the built environment.  I’m also searching for someone who can take over our Design Lab course. Descriptions are below and I have past syllabi that I could share with the new instructor.  Can you send this opportunity to your ITP students and alumni?

Build! / Ages 5-9

Introduce your young architect or engineer to the fundamentals of design through age-appropriate studio projects. Children gain a greater appreciation of their built environment through a multidisciplinary curriculum. Students utilize a variety of materials and sculptural projects to explore shapes and forms and begin to understand how these forms, patterns and textures are expressed in architecture.

Building Basics / Ages 5-7

Mon, starts Sep 19, 4-5:30 pm, 14 Sessions

Building Up / Ages 7-9

Tue, starts Sep 20, 4-5:30 pm, 15 sessions

Design Lab / Ages 9-12

Designers shape our lives every day. Everything around you — from the tallest skyscrapers to the tiniest camera to everyday objects like your toothbrush or school bus — is the work of a designer. Dive into product and graphic design, architecture and more through building, sketching, modeling and even digital design and 3D printing to give your problem-solving skills and visual vocabulary a workout.

Tue, starts Sep 20, 4-5:30 pm, 15 sessions,

Thank you in advance,

Allison
