Open Style Lab is looking for engineers fellows who would be interested in our 10-week summer program to create innovative wearable solutions for people with disabilities.
Who: 15 creative fellows in the fields of design, engineering, or therapy.

What: Launched at MIT as a public service program in 2014, Open Style Lab (501c3) runs a 10-week Saturday-only summer program that teams engineering, fashion design, and occupational therapy students and professionals to create innovative wearable solutions with and for clients with disabilities.
Where: Parsons School of Design campus at the Making Center space filled with wood cutting tools, laser cutters, sewing machines, soldering station, and various fabrication equipment.
What: Fellows and clients will collaborate to come up with a product that addresses the client’s clothing needs associated with their disability. The design process will take into account the client’s personal clothing style preferences, lifestyle, professional capacity, access to caretaker, and any and all other factors that the client feels is a meaningful part of their life. Fellows will gain an invaluable experience of creating a solution both practical and novel, and the clients will have access to customized ideation process tailored just for them as well as the chance to mentor future professionals on the importance of inclusion.
