Job Title: Research Assistant
Position Summary
Devin Mann, Associate Professor in the Division of Healthcare Delivery Science and Senior Director of
Informatics Innovation at NYU Langone Medical Center, is looking for a research assistant to join his
team to support a number of projects related to digital innovation in healthcare delivery related to a
variety of relevant areas of focus, including: user-centered digital mHealth product development, EMR,
clinical decision support tools, and predictive analytics. The research assistant will conduct literature
reviews, conduct (with support) qualitative and other technology usability data collection and analysis,
contribute to publications and presentations and provide administrative and other types of support for a
variety of research and innovation projects.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
The research assistant will be a key member of project teams, providing significant support towards the
management and development of research project activities. There will be opportunities to incorporate
individual skills, interests and strengths to projects when applicable.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
 Bachelor’s degree with 2 years related work experience.
 Strong interest in healthcare and health services delivery
 Knowledge of standard computer software packages for data analysis and presentation, and on-
line literature search engines.
 Exceptional writing skills
 Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
 Ability to work independently and apply critical thinking and sound judgement.
 Good organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
 Master’s degree in public health, design, data science, computer science or other relevant field.
 Experience with qualitative/technology user experience data analysis
 Some background in design and/or software development
