Opportunity: Part Time Afterschool STEM Educators Needed
An educational start-up, PoSoCo is offering cutting-edge, hands-on classes
for Grades 1-5 starting in September 2017.
What We Need
We are looking for part-time teachers for our afterschool STEM classes. Classroom experience and/or technical know-how are preferred, but not required: you’ll receive paid, in-the-classroom training with a mentor from our experienced staff. Once you’re ready, you will become the lead teacher for one or more classes as a member of our team.
The Qualities We’re Looking for in Our Teachers
There are many different types of excellent teachers, just like there are many different types of learners. Some teach quietly, some dance energetically around the room, but all good teachers connect with, inspire and guide young people to greater self-confidence, self-knowledge, empowerment and grit.
Our ideal candidates both lead and learn from students. Typically, they are people who love to learn, thrive on challenge, model good habits of mind, troubleshoot enthusiastically, stay open-minded and positive, listen well, and empathize. They also share their knowledge, insights and ideas for making things better. Our goal is to make the world a better place and our ideal staff is motivated by a similar mission. Candidates interested in eventually being hired to do administrative work and curriculum development are especially welcome in our growing company.
