Reporting to the Director of Technology, the Middle School Technology Integrator provides integration support and training to students and faculty in a virtual and physical academic learning environment, teaches computer science classes in the middle school, and plays a key role in leading and further developing Nightingale’s K-12 mobile device program, Makerspace & STEM initiatives, computer science curriculum, and interdisciplinary technology projects.
Additionally, s/he is a service-oriented team player who embraces both strategy and vision and provides a high level technical expertise, support, and leadership to teammates and community members.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in educational technology or related field preferred.
A minimum of 3-years K-12 independent school and classroom teaching experience.
Knowledgeable about instructional design, STEM, teaching pedagogy, iPad integration, and computer science at a K-12 level.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Inspire, encourage, and support middle school faculty with creative and interdisciplinary curriculum planning technology projects and initiatives.
Identify and promote opportunities to collaborate across middle school disciplines using integration and curriculum technology resources.
Work with the middle school division head, faculty technology trainer, and director of technology on a regular basis to ensure that the use of technology in the middle school is curriculum driven, age-appropriate and is consistent with the goals of the Technology Department.
Collaborate with middle school teachers, library staff, students, and division deans to support and integrate STEM and digital literacy initiatives into faculty curriculum planning.
Facilitate middle school technology professional development opportunities that focus on leveraging academic technology into curriculum planning and instruction.
Work with middle school faculty and students to integrate web teaching and learning tools that foster collaborative efforts (e.g. google drive, notability, etc).
Attend middle school grade-level and divisional meetings to assist teachers with integrating technologies into their curriculum planning.
Lead at least one middle school technology club (Robotics, Programming, or Makerspace).
Serve on the school’s Faculty Technology Resource Group and middle school advisor team.
Partner with departmental technology integrators and the technology support specialist to supervise Nightingale’s K-12 mobile device program in the middle school.
Collaborate with departmental technology integrators to coordinate all aspects of Maker education including development, marketing, and training for faculty and students in the middle school.
Attend middle school Admission Open Houses throughout the year.
Work with Technology Department members to troubleshoot helpdesk support requests.
Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
This position will require working evenings and weekends when necessary and lifting computer hardware from time to time. The working hours for this position is Monday through Friday 7:45am – 3:45pm.
