Social enterprise specializing in outdoor equipment seeks data master and
storyteller to build and drive our e-commerce analytics practice. Ability to turn multiple sources of
data into strategic insight and recommendation a must. This is a Data Analyst position and the
right candidate will be able to apply their quant and technical skillset through a business-oriented
lens.

TITLE: Business Intelligence Analyst
LOCATION: Brooklyn, New York
HOURS: Full-time
REPORTS TO: Director of Marketing
START DATE: ASAP

About The Role
BioLite is looking for a highly-motivated self-starter who is excited to take the next step in his
or her career at a fun, fast-paced, socially conscious startup environment. This role will
create a data-driven growth strategy for BioLite’s direct online business and support annual
D2C revenue targets through the identification of KPIs, improved forecasting tools, and
actionable consumer insights that inform merchandising, customer retention, and
communication strategies.
We are looking for a technically-minded analytical thinker who can take their quantitative
skillset and translate it into digestible recommendations for the broader organization. Most
importantly, you understand the difference between reporting raw data and delivering a
true analysis and you’re excited to put that to work.

Key Activities
• Collaborate with Digital Marketing Manager to define, automate, and produce weekly
e-commerce analysis. Flag trends and issues where relevant and offer data-backed
recommendations to be taken.
• Revise existing monthly forecasting model to better leverage historical data and
customer behavior.

• Conduct monthly State-of-the-Site worksession with marketing team to identify data-
informed successes, challenges, and opportunities to achieve department goals.

• Work with large, messy, disparate datasets and conduct aggregated analysis in a
meaningful way to develop big picture strategy that drives Digital Marketing
Manager’s priorities.
• Help marketing team establish metrics and reporting to optimize internal team
workflows and ROI on time invested
• Prepare relevant data and insights in preparation for quarterly board meetings

This Should Describe You
• You have 3-5+ years of professional experience working in a highly analytical role,
preferably in performance marketing analytics, e-commerce, or related field.
• You’re a SQL whiz and have worked with BI tools such as Tableau, Looker, Periscope,
DOMO, etc.
• You are not afraid of code and can teach yourself whatever tool necessary to get the
job done. This includes R or Python or Excel, etc.
• You have opinions about how to build a good model.
• You are familiar with cohort analysis and can explain why it’s critical for
understanding user retention.
• You appreciate the weeds but know when to think bigger picture
• You know how to communicate with stakeholders and create confidence in your
analysis while proactively acknowledging limitations and constraints.
• You love new challenges and solving problems before someone asks you to
• You enjoy working on a team but know how to get stuff done on your own
• You’re serious when it comes to data, but you’ve got some humor to spare
