Beam Camp seeks practicing artists/makers to work collaboratively with Project Team (Project Director, Program Director, & other specialists) to design and deliver workshops in the Beam Fundamentals for kids aged 10-17, and to be an active participant in Beam Camp’s unique summer community of fun and learning. The job requires grace under
pressure, good humor and an interest in providing children with valuable experiences in creativity, craft and community.

The Beam Fundamentals are:
Project & Building: construction, carpentry, metal work, project planning
Computing & Electronics: circuitry, physical computing, coding, video
Design & Prototyping: model-making, design thinking, digital fabrication
Craft & Materials: ceramics, fiber & textiles, printmaking,
We are looking for candidates who have skill in one or more
of the areas listed above & availability for a full summer or
half summer commitment.
We Build Unique And Spectacular Projects that serve as the centerpieces of each Beam session. Beam commissions
a different distinguished artist, architect or general big thinker as Project
Master to conceive each camp session’s Project. Beam Campers work
alongside our full-time and visiting staff of architects, videographers,
builders, engineers, designers, and makers of all kinds to bring the Project to life.
At Beam Kids & Adults Learn To Make Their Ideas Happen
through fine and manual arts, technology and collaboration. Beam
Campers cultivate hands-on skills while exploring innovative thinking,
design and the creative process. They build, swim, hike, play games and
enjoy 750 acres of mountain, forests and lakes.
Qualifications
Applicants should have: facility, confidence, and a high level of proficiency or an overlap of skills in a fundamental area: professional work experience in some capacity; experience managing people; experience teaching or working with kids.
