Elementary School Technology Teacher

Description: 
The Churchill School and Center, an independent K-12 school for students with language based learning disabilities, is seeking a Technology Teacher to work primarily in the Elementary School. This is a full-time, 10-month position that begins on August 20, 2018. The Technology Teacher reports to the Director of Technology, and works closely with the Educational Technology Coordinator, faculty, students and administration to support and enhance the use of technology in the classroom.

Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively with faculty to seamlessly integrate technology into curriculum, in an effort to enhance instruction and learning

Teach technology classes for K-fifth grades. Work one-on-one with students in need of training in assistive technology

Develop and lead professional development sessions for faculty

Train students, faculty, and administration to use available software and hardware

Keep up to date with current trends in educational technology and technology education

Attend regular planning meetings with teaching teams and provide technology updates and extension ideas

Investigate innovative technologies and applications for implementation in the classroom

Possibilities:
Develop an after-school program in robotics, 3D design/printing, and/or other topics

Collaboratively examine and develop future technology curriculum

Spearhead the expansion of our Makerspace program

Required Skills: 
B.A. or B.S. degree (M.A. or M.A. Ed. preferred)

Experience with macOS, iOS, and Google Apps for Education

Experience in developing and leading professional development sessions for faculty

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines

Experience in a learning disabled setting is preferred

Must be adaptable, flexible, with a growth mindset
