JOB: Rowan Tech Solutions, Freelance, Digital Designer

Rowan Tech Solutions

Freelance, Digital Designer

Rowan Technology is looking to add a talented and agile Digital Designer to our growing team that builds innovative digital learning products.

The digital designer will be responsible for creating immersive digital experiences, primarily at the university-level, that capture and maintain the learner’s interest. The selected candidate will adeptly work across a variety of mediums (including interactives, video, images, maps, text, audio, etc) to produce innovative and compelling content that fulfills particular educational aims. They will also provide guidance on optimal visual presentation and user experience. Operating with extensive creative agency, this will include working with clients to strategize, create, and deliver sophisticated learning experiences. This agency extends to the technical realm, where they can integrate novel technological components into this content if, and when, they deem it necessary.

The designer will join a small, interdisciplinary team experienced in design, software development, publishing, cartography, and marketing. While all have their primary domains, the roles of each occasionally overlap to accomplish our ambitious aims. The Digital Designer will be expected to be equally as agile, and occasionally use their expertise to assist in parallel efforts across our team. While the role is initially part-time, scheduling is flexible and has the potential to transition to full-time.

Rowan Technology is a growing, technology-driven startup that aims to become the premier web and mobile learning platform. Originally founded to work with universities to create sophisticated digital learning products, we are now expanding our operation to allow wider audiences to author and create digital learning content themselves. Come join us as chart the future of digital learning.
