JOB: Brud Transmedia Studio, Sr. UE4 Technical Artist

What: Sr. UE4 Technical Artist – Unreal

Where: Los Angeles

Brud is a transmedia studio that creates digital character-driven story worlds. We’re hiring a Sr. UE4 Technical Artist to help us develop those stories. We are looking for someone to be the link between code and art, and ensure performance, consistency, and optimal workflow throughout the development process.

The candidate should have strong technical and leadership skills, a problem-solving drive, and the ability to collaborate across departments.

Responsibilities include:

  • Optimizing art and tech in the Unreal engine

  • Blueprints, materials, level streaming

  • Developing content guidelines and workflows to ensure best practices

  • Reducing scene complexity

  • Adjusting project graphics settings

  • Optimizing memory and performance.

  • Negotiating between art/code to find best compromises

  • Develop new workflows to speed up processes, reduce hardware requirements, and promote creativity.

  • Working closely with other developers and artists to help improve pipeline.

  • Collaborating with other artists across disciplines to solve problems and proactively find new opportunities for improvement.

  • Creating a product that will bring joy to our customers’ lives.

Skills/qualifications:

  • Genius with Unreal Engine 4

  • Genius with coding and blueprints

  • Deep knowledge of shading and materials in Unreal

  • Deep knowledge of lighting in Unreal

  • Strong technical fundamentals, including debugging and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication skills
