Telepresence Research Assistants / Interns at NYU Shanghai, Summer (and possibly Fall) 2019
We’re seeking talented individuals in both computer science and interactive media to contribute to an experimental live telepresence project called “Telewindow” and “Telemirror.” Skills required include both CS/computer vision-related programming around real-time multi-camera point cloud merging, rendering, and streaming, particularly using OpenGL programming; and general interactive media experience such as audio and video tool use, fabrication and 3D printing, and UI/UX design.
The appointments are full time for the summer (June 1 – August 31) with a possibility of an extension through the end of the year. Telewindow/Telemirror is an NYU project based in Shanghai. We welcome applications from outside candidates, for example, around NYU New York and NYU Abu Dhabi, as well as from candidates based in Shanghai, and can offer travel expenses and lodging subsidy. This may be an ideal summer job for recent graduates or study away semester for current students in CS and IMA.
Inquiries about these positions, including visa eligibility, can be made directly to Michael Naimark <michael.naimark@nyu.edu>.
