Summary:
Dexcom’s Product Design Team is seeking a talented intern in the areas of User Experience Design (User Experience and User Interface Design). The ideal candidate is one who shares our passion for exploring and creating world-class user experiences.
The User Experience Design Intern will work closely with our product design team to learn the existing products and assist with documentation and design of process flowcharts, user interfaces, and interactive prototypes for various web, mobile, and physical products. Candidate must be proficient in documenting design intent and well-organized. It is beneficial the candidate have familiarity with iOS, Android mobile and wearable devices and familiarity with Android, Google, and iOS UX & UI guidelines.

Responsibilities:
● Exhibit understanding of good practices in UX and/or UI design
● Create process flows, interaction flows, wireframes, and behavior specifications
● Quickly and efficiently create and update prototypes
● Thrive in highly collaborative, fluid, fast-paced open office environment
● Ability to manage their own time and work within deadlines set by project leads
● Work with project leads to understand scope and task priorities for multiple projects
● Have working knowledge of mobile and web design standards, usability heuristics, and
platform guidelines (ex: Google Material Design and iOS Human Interface Guidelines)
● Excellent presentation skills with the ability to explain and defend designs
● Eagerness to work with other creative people and across teams

Qualifications:
● Have working knowledge of mobile and web design standards, usability heuristics, and
platform guidelines
● 0-1+ years of experience in any or all of the following fields: User Experience Design
and/or User Interface Design
● A portfolio demonstrating strong UX and/or UI
● Must have good communication skills to discuss tradeoffs between design options
● Actively seeks discussions for design direction when direction is not obvious
● Ability to work in a structured corporate environment
● Education or experience in user-centered design techniques
● Open to learning to technology, practices, and software
● Ideally has experience in using an interactive screenflow prototype tool and working with
logic and variables
Education Requirements:
● Candidate can be currently in school pursuing a bachelor’s degree or greater in user
experience, visual design, human-computer interaction, cognitive science, design, or in
related field.

Position Information:
● This position is paid
● This position will be over 35 hours per week
● This internship will run on a contract with extension options based on performance and
need

Must be able to communicate effectively in English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
