Tech Fellow

2 Year, Part-Time Immersive Media Technology Fellowship

Hourly Rate $40 – Up to 24 hours per week

Eyebeam is looking for a Tech Fellow to support our digital-first strategy and its related initiatives. Reporting to the Manager of Programs and Inclusion, this interactive media professional will be comfortable developing, creating, and pulling data and media from several sources and have a portfolio of immersive experience projects. In addition, the ideal candidate will have experience in project coordination, process, and program documentation, as well as tracking success metrics.


The Tech Fellow will support Eyebeam’s launch of a flexible and experimental online space that will host a wide range of public and semi-public programming. This digital destination is one where accessibility is front and center, with user-friendly collaboration for artists.


We aim to create an imaginative space to explore different avenues of presenting artwork and ideas from our fellows, alumni, and other people in our network.


This is a part-time position with a cap of 24 hours a week; you will be paid for holidays and other paid time off according to Eyebeam’s policy and practice. Additionally, there will be opportunities for professional development. This is a hybrid role, which requires work in the office once per week, and as needed for group collaboration.


General Responsibilities


  • Assist artists and curators with the posting of content

  • Manage, support, and analyze reports related to artists engagement in digital destination

  • Monitoring and maintaining network system and communication systems

  • Maintaining default configurations to ensure timely and accurate deployment of projects

  • Support artists with the implementation of their work by providing technical support

  • Provide solutions to technical base problems

  • Troubleshooting system errors

  • Support digital accessibility audits with staff

  • Create documentation and technical guides

  • Liaising clear communication both verbally and written between developers, designers, and staff

 


Qualifications


  • Advanced Coding / Javascript

  • Knowledge of digital accessibility/WCAG 2.1/ PDF accessibility

  • Knowledge of creating user experience documents

  • Familiarity with design processes and prototyping

  • Familiarity with the Google Suite and Mac

  • Immersive media portfolio

  • Database administration

  • Interactive media production

  • Multi-media documentation for an open-source website

  • Ability to write about technical and design processes

  • Overall interest or experience with emerging technologies

In light of Eyebeam having shed its physical space and introduced a radical new artist-driven, digital-first form of artist support and hybrid presentation, it will be critical to employ new strategies for revenue generation that engages broad audiences, many of whom may be encountering Eyebeam for

the very first time. This position is intended to both build on our history of fundraising success as well as access a new generation of potential supporters in a new landscape of giving.


The Chief Fundraiser (CF) is responsible for fundraising which includes major donors, corporate sponsors, annual appeals, and foundation giving. Eyebeam seeks a self-motivated and detail-oriented person who can develop and execute successful strategies in the identification, cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation of donors. Additionally, the CF will create new pipeline strategies, and in consultation with the Executive Director, establish measurable fundraising goals and objectives, and develop and maintain relationships with prospects. Must additionally have strong project management and CRM Skills.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Steward existing relationships to ensure that donors, partners, and funders increase giving.

  • Leverage new digital potentials for pipeline building and donor engagement.

  • Incorporate emerging cryptocurrency strategies.

  • Conduct research to identify high-net-worth individuals to support the growth campaign.

  • Identify potential corporate partnership opportunities and develop pathways for giving.

  • Forge new relationships to build general operating support (GOS), visibility, and secure financial support from individuals, foundations, and corporations long term.

  • Partner with the ED to provide strategy and direction for GOS.

  • Work with the team to conceptualize and implement fundraising campaigns.

  • Work with the Storyteller Fellow to raise the visibility of social media, newsletter, direct mail campaigns, driving new levels of community engagement.

  • Ensure the website and public education and marketing materials are timely.

  • Conceptualize and implement giving campaigns for in-kind support, corporate, foundation, individual donors, and City and State funding.

  • Build interpersonal relationships with donors, in collaboration with the ED, that create opportunities for cementing partnerships.

  • Work collaboratively with Storyteller Fellow, providing complete and accurate reports.

  • Oversee donor data management and ensure that Salesforce is being used effectively.

  • Oversee donation processing, acknowledgment, tracking, reporting, and reconciliation with external accounting co-operative (ArtsPool).

  • Manage and motivate a high-performing team to exceed goals.

  • Ability to project manage and collect information, catalog, document, update databases, and index/file correspondence as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years experience in the field providing direct or related work experience.

  • A track record of growth as a hands-on fundraising professional who can creatively identify, cultivate, successfully solicit gifts from individual donors, and who enjoys the process.

  • Success in educating individuals new to philanthropy.

  • Experience in identifying, training, motivating, managing, and partnering with staff and external partners.

  • Strategic background executing annual appeals, campaigns, special events, planned giving, and research.

  • Strong fundraising database experience and skills with a willingness to implement efficiencies, from data input to producing reports to analyzing results.

  • Strong data analysis skills to define metrics and assess data to present informed decisions and recommendations.

  • A highly organized, confident, creative approach.

  • A proven ability to communicate passionately, clearly, and concisely, both in writing and orally, and who enjoys engaging with artists and the communities we serve.

  • Ability to innovate through new forms provided by technological innovations.

  • Demonstrated ability in leveraging social media for fundraising.

  • Awareness of and engagement with evolving modes of individual giving, including cryptocurrency or other forms of wealth such as stocks, bonds, or legacy giving.

  • Familiarity with the Google Suite and Mac.
