https://www.studios-efanyc.org/internship

Important dates:
Summer Internship duration: June 7 – August 26, 2022
Fall Internship duration: September 6 – December 9, 2022
M-F, 2 day per week commitment, 8 hours per day

Description: The Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts is a 501(c)(3) public charity, dedicated to providing artists across all disciplines with space, tools and a cooperative forum for the development of individual practice. We are a catalyst for cultural growth, stimulating new interactions between artists, creative communities, and the public. Apply now for a Studio Program Internship, working for the EFA Studio Program over two days weekly throughout the Spring/Fall 2022. This internship is available to current graduate students (junior and senior BA and BFA students will also be considered) with interest in the visual arts and is an opportunity to gain insight into the lives of working artists, as well as the intricacies of running a nonprofit organization. Primary tasks include administrative work, artist assistantship, gallery operations, exhibition planning, social media, and support of virtual events. Successful candidates will be amiable, adaptable, professional, social, and confident. Interns should be comfortable working as a member of a team—working well with direction, while feeling confident to provide their own insights. Along with assisting in the administrative tasks of the program, interns will consistently be working directly with contemporary artists. This internship can be used for course credit. Internship benefits (TBD) will also be provided. Course credit is available.

EFA facilitates interaction with dealers, collectors and curators to enhance career development for member-artists. Unique among studio programs in New York City, EFA is one of the few remaining arts organizations providing long-term workspace in Manhattan.
