Planetary Self, an ongoing project dedicated to strengthening collective bonds with the planet, is looking to work with an enthusiastic AR generalist to create the next iteration of an AR mobile app for a public showcase with GrowNYC.
The current prototype is a flythrough produced using Adobe Aero featuring a recorded tour of a map produced with Google Earth using integrated customized data.
Over the next 6 weeks, our team hopes to improve the user experience, create a smooth transition from the AR app to the Planetary Self website, and brainstorm and implement other UX and design improvements. In the future, the app may be expanded to include different maps and data visualizations. The app will be presented Union square as well as throughout the city with QR codes at farmers markets, recycling centers, composting sites, clothing swap sites, school gardens, etc, and will also be projected on the sides of buildings of note in NYC and Brooklyn, to showcase the environmental impact of GrowNYC.
