New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development invites applications for a non-tenure track Visiting Assistant Professor position in Media, Culture, and Communication to begin in September 2024. The appointed faculty member will be part of the Department of Media, Culture, and Communication. This is a one-year, non-tenure track appointment that is renewable for an additional two years, depending upon department need and satisfactory performance. Position Description:  The Department of Media, Culture, and Communication serves over 1000 undergraduate majors. We are interested in candidates who have competence and teaching experience in game studies and/or platform studies.

Responsibilities: Teach three undergraduate courses for the fall and spring semester (6 annually); facilitate new course design; advise undergraduate honors theses as needed (no more than 2 per year). The successful candidate will be engaged in the intellectual life of the department.

Qualifications: Doctorate earned by September 2024 and strong record of teaching required.
