The MakerSpace and General Engineering Open Laboratory at Tandon School of Engineering at NYU seeks two or more adjunct faculty to work evening and weekend shifts at its makerspace facilities located at 6 Metrotech and 325 Gold Street. These shifts are Monday through Friday 5:30 – 10:30 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 am to 6:30 pm.
Key Responsibilities:
Adjunct faculty are needed to monitor the General Engineering Open Laboratory and MakerSpace managed spaces. Duties include:
- Supporting student use of equipment
- Ensuring compliance with safety, health, and space usage policies
- Assisting in the maintenance and operation of the facilities and equipment
- Reporting issues to the MakerSpace and General Engineering Managers and Directors
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in engineering, creative technology or a related discipline
- Intermediate or higher level 3D printers, laser cutters and hand tools skills
- 1-2 years of experience in STEM education environments
- Experience working with a diverse population of students, particularly skill levels and interests.
