As a Product Designer, you’ll be responsible for defining, designing, researching, prototyping, and implementing new features as well as future iterations. We’re looking for a design intern who isn’t afraid to jump in and explore new challenges. You have a balance of interaction design, visual design, and product thinking skills. You are customer obsessed and research driven. You’re a natural collaborator and can work independently and in a team environment.
Product Design Intern, Reality Labs Responsibilities
- Take broad, conceptual ideas and turn them into something useful and valuable for people using our products
- Work collaboratively with Product, Research, Engineering and other partners from concept to completion
- Own the end-to-end design (user flows, interaction, visual, etc.) of products and projects
- Present designs, prototypes and concepts to cross functional partners and stakeholders
- Provide implementation guidance to engineers and ensure features launch at the highest quality
- Clearly articulate design decisions to a vast set of internal stakeholders across Reality Labs and Meta
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience building and shipping applications or software at the level of whole features across a variety of platforms
- Interaction Design experience with ability to define how an experience should behave based on understanding people’s needs
- Ability to use prototyping skills to demonstrate how a particular flow or interaction will work
- Visual Design skills with proficiency in typography, desktop/mobile UI, color, layout, iconography and aesthetic sense
- Strategic product thinker with the ability to understand product goals, identify opportunities, and make decisions based on the impact to people and the company.
- Able to clearly and succinctly articulate the goals of your team
- Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in design or related design field
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing for hardware products and new interaction models
- Ability to showcase your end to end design process across multiple projects, that include interaction and visual design artifacts and high-fidelity prototypes
