The NYU Creative Career Hub is looking for a Special Events Stage Manager (SME) & Administrative Assistant to join our team for the Spring 2025 semester!
This is an exciting in-person, part-time opportunity (10 hours/week) for a creative, organized, and technically minded student who loves live events and supporting the arts community at NYU.
As the Special Events Stage Manager & Administrative Assistant, you’ll:
🎬 Support and run live events and workshops—handling lighting, sound, and audience experience
📸 Help document events through photography or video
🎤 Troubleshoot virtual and in-person event tech needs
💻 Assist with front desk coverage and administrative support
🤝 Represent the Creative Career Hub as an ambassador and help promote our programs
Position Details:
- Hours: ~10 hours/week, not to exceed 190 hours total
- Schedule: Flexible weekday hours (10:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.) + events on Tuesday evenings and Fridays (9 a.m.–5 p.m.)
- Location: In-person at the Creative Career Hub, NYU Production Lab
- Pay Rate: $17/hour (undergraduate) | $30/hour (graduate)
- Reports to: Creative Career Hub Program Manager
What We’re Looking For:
- Professional communication (in person & over email)
- Comfort with Mac OS and event tech (projectors, sound, lighting)
- Prior experience in stage or production management
- Enthusiasm for live events and problem-solving under pressure
Bonus Skills:
Photography, video, live streaming, social media (Instagram/TikTok), or experience with ETC lighting, Crestron, or live audio mixing.
