Description

We currently have a position for an experienced interaction and visual designer with a background in software / UI development. The successful candidate will be joining a world-class team of industry researchers with a wide variety of disciplinary backgrounds including social scientists, designers, software engineers, strategic planners, and technology innovators.

This is a full-time position, and salaries are competitive and will be commensurate with experience. We are a team that believes we achieve our best results when we work together, so candidates must be willing to relocate to the Dublin/Leixlip area in Ireland for this position.

Job responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

·        Leading collaborative synthesis of research data; translating consumer research into design implications/requirements

·        Developing/visualizing product concepts, interaction schemes, and user experiences (and use cases) using wireframes, storyboards, scenarios, etc.

·        Designing/building conceptual and working experience software prototypes

·        Contributing to the development of user experience strategy, positioning projects within a clearly articulated context of Intel’s business, industry/ecosystem developments, and emerging consumer behaviours

·        Presenting design concepts to audiences with a wide variety of (mostly technical) backgrounds

The ideal candidate will also demonstrate the following:

·        Strong analytical and logical problem-solving skills paired with wild creativity

·        Expertise in visual design, interaction design, information design, interface design, information architecture and an understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, Flash, Visio, Photoshop, Fireworks and Illustrator.

·        Java application development experience on the Android platform and/or application development experience for iOS/Apple devices.

·        Multimedia content development/integration – video/audio/computer graphics integration.

·        History of successful collaboration on project teams

·        Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills

·        Enthusiasm and confidence; ability to lead projects independently

·        Ability to balance personal interests and design sensibilities with the objectives of research colleagues and the needs of the business

·        High tolerance for a dynamic work environment with rapidly changing priorities

·        Willingness and ability to travel

Qualifications

You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience would be obtained through your educational level research and/or relevant industry experiences.

Minimum Requirements:

·        Degree in design or a related discipline

·        Minimum of 4 years experience with software prototyping tools (e.g., Flash, Illustrator, Photo Shop, After Effects)

Preferred Requirements:

·        Master’s degree or PhD in design or a related discipline.

·        Significant academic work and professional experience in a secondary discipline (design-related software development, computer science) is a strong advantage.

·        Highly developed skills in visual design and are adept at structuring information and interaction schemes.
