New York Public Radio (NYPR) seeks a Manager, Product Development & User Experience.  If you are a multi-faceted product manager with experience in product management or product design and love what you do, then we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
  • Gather requirements, create product specifications and wireframes
  • Help define product vision and strategy
  • Facilitate effective communication throughout the product development process between internal and external teams including engineering, design, executives and others
  • Analyze product performance via user testing, analytics, etc.
  • Track and communicate project status, issues, risks and decisions in a change-laden environment
  • Remain abreast of competitors and trends in technology, usability, and design
  • Comply with all New York Public Radio policies and guidelines
  • This position requires use of a computer, telephone and other office and/or broadcast equipment; ability to communicate effectively through a variety of methods
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s preferred in Computer Science or a related technical field
  • 3-5 years of product management/product design experience
  • Experience developing Internet products and technologies
  • Ability to quickly synthesize complex issues to drive effective decision making
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills with strong technical abilities
  • Entrepreneurial drive and ability to achieve goals in an innovative and fast paced environment
  • Understanding of user-centered design principles
  • Excellent communication skills—both oral and written—with an impressive reputation for building and maintaining relationships with people at all levels of an organization, across a diverse range of cultural, generational, ethnic, racial, educational and social backgrounds
  • Requires the intellectual and emotional depth, maturity, self-confidence and interpersonal skills to work effectively and/or interact with the other digital media staff, executives at NYPR, colleagues, and clients as needed.
