I need someone to help me with the audio and coding part of my upcoming sculpture exhibition:
The Talking Cure
I am currently working on a mixed material and media project entitled The Talking Cure. Named after Freud’s description of psychoanalysis it will consist of ten sculptures each accompanied by an audio track. The sculptures will be my fabricated figures combined with mixed materials, found objects and luscious surfaces. The pieces will be narrative, but in a surreal way- each open to interpretation. I have asked ten writers to each chose a piece and write their imagined monologue of what is going on in the ‘person’s” mind. I will then have ten actors record each of the ten monologues. A QR tag will accompany each piece. When the viewer points either a Smartphone or reading device at the QR tag it will trigger the audio and you will hear the “voice’ of the sculpture.
In addition there will be an opportunity for viewers to record their own imagined interior monologue for each sculpture. In this way the viewer will be both receiver and if desired, creator of the back-story for each of the sculptures.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a publication of each writer’s monologue as well as drawings relating to the sculptures.
