SHORT CIRCUIT STUDIO INTERN
Institute of Play
December 16, 2011
Institute of Play, a non-profit design studio and learning lab, seeks an intern for its after-school program Short Circuit Studio. During Short Circuit, participants invent, tinker and hack at the intersection of physical computing, programming and design. The program is held at Quest to Learn, a NYC public middle school with a focus on systems-thinking and game-based learning, located in the Chelesa neighborhood.
The intern will work with the Institute of Play Afterschool team to prototype activities and projects, assist with activity roll-out and support participants in knowledge and skills development during workshops. The ideal candidate will be: well-versed in physical computing and wearables; eager to share their knowledge and expertise with young people; able to follow directions and take the lead where necessary. This is an unpaid internship. The session runs January 9-March 16, 2012 and requires availability on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3p-6p.
