About ScriptEd

In addition, ScriptEd links students to internship opportunities to gain professional experience in which to apply their coding skills.
What do we teach?
ScriptEd’s Foundations course is a yearlong curriculum that introduces students to the fundamentals of Front End Web Development. Our second year students take a course in Back End Development.
Volunteer Commitment
ScriptEd classes are held twice weekly throughout the school year. Depending on your school placement, classes are held either in the morning during the school day (approximately 8:00 am – 9:30 am), or during after-school hours (approximately 3:30 to 5:00 pm). Time varies by school. To allow for flexibility in your volunteer commitment, we place approximately 4 volunteers at each school.
Volunteers must commit to teach either one or two days per week. Each school will have a designated Lead Volunteer.
Volunteer Training
Each ScriptEd volunteer must participate in a new volunteer training and must complete our partner schools’ required fingerprinting and background checks. A ScriptEd staff member will contact you about each of these requirements after you apply to volunteer.
