We are actively seeking a UX Visual Designer to assist in our efforts to create world class products for
the JP Morgan Markets Platform and it’s various digital properties. J.P. Morgan Markets (JPMM) is the
firm’s flagship client facing platform that provides seamless access to critical functionality across the
trade lifecycle; from research, analytics and structuring to trading and post-trade functionality, across
markets globally.
The successful candidate will join the entrepreneurial team within JP Morgan’s Corporate Investment
Bank (CIB) that provides Product Management capabilities to the firm’s client-facing platform, JP
Morgan Markets (JPMM). In this capacity, the Product team serves as a critical conduit between the
business and technology, and includes the talented and growing team of User Experience practitioners
who craft the design of business-critical systems.
Role description:
This UX Visual Designer role is an integral part of the UX team which designs next-generation, bespoke,
multi-channel applications for the Corporate Investment Bank (CIB), and will have a specific focus on
tools for sales teams across the CIB. These tools encompass functionality that supports sales/CRM,
pricing, trading, and order management. It’s an exciting opportunity to design applications that are
informationally rich, highly specialized, and built with the latest web, mobile, and desktop front end
technologies.
The ideal candidate:
Above all, is excited and motivated to create next-generation user interfaces applying expertise
within the fields of Information Design, Interaction Design, and Data Visualization to develop
compelling yet problem-solving designs for various financial applications
Is a trained visual designer who balances expertise in ‘craft’ with an academic interest in best
practices of Information Design and Interaction Design
Can skillfully represent the visual design discipline within a multi-disciplinary product team and
when presenting to stakeholders, sponsors, and critics
Has some banking experience but more critically, has a record of successful deliveries for data-
heavy, custom-designed, application user interfaces
Is curious and resourceful and with that, able to learn and operate within the complex business
domains of the company
Has strong communication skills and enjoys working collaboratively
Leverages his/her design skills, and awareness of the user and business goals, to imagine,
illustrate, and help realize a compelling functional interface
Is comfortable employing his/her skills across all stages of the design and development process
including conception, design, standardization, specification, and enforcement
Is detail oriented and always concerned about the overall finished effect
Responsibilities:
Create and evolve the visual design language for the product; responsible for designing,
standardizing, documenting, and enforcing the visual design elements of a product while
maintaining awareness of related product and corporate design standards
Work closely with a cross disciplinary product team to help translate business challenges and
requirements into compelling UI’s that demonstrate the power and value of the rich application
design
Take an active role in the ideation of products and features
Take an active role, post design, in the development effort (visual QA)
Create high-fidelity, detailed visual design specifications (red-lines) and assets for the proposed
designs (typically using Photoshop)
Preferred Work Experience:
Minimum 2 years experience working in a professional capacity as a visual designer on highly
interactive and data rich applications
Has art directed, or had significant influence in defining the visual design language for an
interaction-complex product, application, or site
Has created robust and exacting visual design specifications
Experience designing for one or more of the following technologies: HTML5/CSS, Flex, Flash,
WPF or similar front end technology

experience with Information Design and Interaction Design.
Educational Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in design with emphasis in one or more of the following: Information Design,
Communication Design, Graphic Design, Interaction Design
