Caselden Studios is a new creative studio based out of Brooklyn, NY. We create sound design for spaces, interactive art installations, and new, innovative approaches to music-making & sound generation. The studio’s founder, MJ Caselden, a creative technologist and sound artist.
Caselden Studios is looking for an intern with fabrication skills to contribute to hands-on design, fabrication, touring and installation of artwork, and general organizational tasks within the studio. We’re looking for someone that wants to learn on the fly, develop new skill-sets from project to project, and wear many hats. This is a part-time position with flexible hours.
Required skills:
Background in 3D modeling, laser-cutting, and fabrication
Basic familiarity with shop tools: drill press, chop saw, etc.
Ability to source materials, pick up packages, and keep the studio clean and organized
Interest in researching and analyzing new approaches to designs, and proposing ideas
Appreciation for design aesthetics
Preferred skills:
Understanding of (or interest in) electronics, interactive art, Arduino
Understanding of (or interest in) acoustics, instrument design

Pay scale will vary depending on applicant’s experience.
