Software Engineer
Creative Commons is on the look out for a new full-time Software
Engineer to create, test, implement and maintain software for internal
and external use by Creative Commons under the supervision of the CTO.
A successful engineer will be comfortable working with multiple
projects and varying deadlines on a small, dynamic team.
We would like the software engineer to be based in the San Francisco
office, starting as soon as possible. Working from home/remotely is
flexible on occasion. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Analyze user specifications and requirements. Encode, tes=
t, debug, and document programs. Prepare technical specifications, =
test plans and programs of a highly technical or *complex nature.
Write operational documentation. Revise and update programs a=
nd documentation as required. Investigate new technologies. Support partners in the use of Creative Commons technologies.
Skill Requirements
Excellent knowledge of Python, PHP, SQL, XHTML, RDF, software desi=
gn, engineering techniques and best practices. Excellent debugging =
skills. Excellent knowledge of Linux. Excellent written an=
d spoken technical communication.
Experience with developing User Interfaces.
Desired Skills
Experience building web applications using Python
Knowledge of Java and J2EE application development and deploy=
ment
