Position Summary:
The NJIT School of Art & Design is recruiting a pool of applicants interested in teaching classes in Digital Design at the undergraduate and graduate programs on an ongoing basis. Qualified applicants not able to take on a class in a particular semester would continue to be considered in future semesters. Adjunct instructors will be given the learning objectives and requirements for each class assigned. May also apply to teach courses in the school of Art + Design with “AD” prefixes.

Essential Functions:
Teaching: Integrate core concepts from past courses into the one being taught. Communicate with students, faculty, and administration on student progress throughout the semester.

Prerequisite Qualifications:
Must possess a design-related Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or a bachelor’s degree with appropriate industry experience to teach undergraduate courses. Advanced degree or significant equivalent industry experience required to teach at the graduate level.

Preferred Qualifications:
Prior teaching experience is particularly welcome. Advanced Degree preferred.  Depending on the course, the instructor would need to have relevant experience in creative, analytical, or synthetic design areas. Hands-on knowledge of course topics is desired (e.g., knowledge of game design and interactivity, 2D and 3D animation, XR, motion graphics, screen based communication and UI/UX, knowledge of arduino programming and physical computing, web design and use of digital software to produce and evaluate design work, etc.)
