Shenandoah Conservatory at Shenandoah University is currently accepting applications for a Lighting Shop Manager & Designer. This is a 12-month, full-time, benefited staff position based on our main campus in Winchester, Virginia. In addition to shop management and lighting design responsibilities across a robust season of productions and guest artist events, the position includes a teaching component through a separate adjunct faculty contract.
We’re particularly interested in early-career professionals who are passionate about mentorship, safety, collaboration, and continued learning. The role offers a dynamic mix of hands-on design work, technical supervision, and teaching in a supportive conservatory environment that produces more than 300 performances each year.
This position requires an MFA or MA in Lighting Design or equivalent, or commensurate professional and educational experience.
