JOB: AI Artist / Creative Technologist — “MIA” (Short Film)

Project: MIA — a live-action/generative-AI hybrid short film

Director: Daniel Castro

Compensation: Passion project (unpaid) via the Google Flow residency – creative ownership over AI pipeline, Google network/resources, a hybrid AI film on your portfolio, and a public screening.

Commitment: ~8 weeks of project, primarily 3 weeks early-mid October

Location: NYC, hybrid

About the Project

MIA is a dark humor sci-fi piece centered around a dance-fight sequence – shot with real dancers and a choreographer, then transposed via AI into a stylized environment – dancers filmed in a practical studio space, transplanted into a fully realized world without losing the choreography.

This is a full production – a crew of 20+ across direction, production, camera, choreography, cast, design, sound, and post. It’s part of the Google Flow residency program and will culminate to a public screening.

What You’ll Do

– Own prompt iteration and visual consistency across all shots — same characters, wardrobe, and world from scene to scene.

– Help lock the AI pipeline pre-shoot, and align with the DP on what clean plates need to look like for reliable transposition.

– Lead the AI Creation push in post (early-mid Oct), then handle AI Pickups/revisions as the edit tightens.

– Collaborate with the Editor and Compositor to get the AI work integrated cleanly into the final cut.

What We’re Looking For

– ITP student or alum, or comparable art/tech background

– Hands-on experience with generative video tools including prompt engineering for consistency across a sequence – we’ll be working primarily in Google’s ecosystem (Flow/Omni/Veo) with option to collaborate with other tools

– A creative portfolio with strong AI video creation experience. Bonus for experience in compositing and complex post pipelines
