Landscape Architect or Architect: Project Manager
Principal of small office with rather large landscape architectural projects and frequent travel schedule seeks experienced landscape architect or architect (with interest in landscape) to supervise projects from start to finish. Project Manager will work closely with principal in all phases of design and installation and will be responsible for coordinating with clients, collaborating architects, interior designers, and contractors; as well as creating CAD documents, and supervising work outsourced to other Landscape Architecture offices.
Responsibilities include:
Assembling all documents and information necessary to begin projects (contacts, codes, base data)
Preparing or supervising preparation of base plans
Working with Principal on design and incorporating into drawings
Preparing presentation materials
Coordinating/supervising pricing, contracts and work performed with all associated vendors
Supervising preparation, purchasing, construction, installation and job site management of projects including hardscape (pools, walls, paving, accessory structures, etc) , grading, drainage, plant materials.
Tracking costs
Maintaining client files
Managing office in absence of Principal
Tracking and follow up on maintenance and outstanding items for current and previous clients
Small amounts of general office duties
Regular visits to local jobsites and occasional travel to more distant locations
The position requires:
Experience in creating construction documents and supervising bidding processes
5 yrs min on site construction supervision experience
Good to excellent CAD proficiency
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Excellent problem solving skills
Ability to work alone and unsupervised
Willingness to live on the East End of Long Island
Extensive knowledge of plant material not required
Knowledge of Spanish helpful
