About the Literary Genome Project:

We are setting out to codify literature in a way that has not been done before and help fans of literature discover new writing and new authors.

By capturing essential attributes, or more aptly “genes”, of literature we are creating unique genomes for published books, short stories and essays. Using the genomes we aim to help readers discover new writing and new authors. For emerging writers, self-published authors and independent publishing houses this represents an exciting new way of finding and connecting with relevant audiences.
The Literary Genome Project is a grass roots crowd-sourced effort and we are calling on emerging authors and students in creative writing, literature and journalism programs across the country to join us!
