Catalyst Group, a leading user experience strategy, research and design firm based in New York City, is seeking an experienced Designer to join our growing team of world-class user experience specialists. The ideal candidate for this position will share our passion for helping our clients create highly desirable, useful, and easy-to-use products and services. This role requires the ability to create intuitive, useful, and innovative design solutions by producing user flows, design sketches that communicate high-level conceptual design alternatives and detailed wireframes that illustrate the entire user experience.
Position Responsibilities:
- Define and design the user interface and interaction flow for highly interactive customer-facing products, services, and mobile device applications.
- Create conceptual sketches and detailed wireframes that respond to requirements and design objectives
- Present design solutions to project and technical teams for iterative review and constructive feedback
- Participate as a contributor to an interdisciplinary team that includes visual designers, project managers, product strategists, and developers.
General Requirements:
- 5+ years experience as an interaction designer, user experience designer, user interface designer, information architect, or similar role
- Experience working in a collaborative team environment, working directly with business and development teams for defining and implementing design solutions
- Strong knowledge of user interface design processes and methodology, particularly as applied to web-based applications
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Strong client-facing presentation skills in addition to strong written and verbal communication skills
- A portfolio that reflects the range of your skills
- Extreme proficiency with standard IA tools, including Visio, Microsoft Office.
