CIAL MEDIA INTERN

Rhizome, a leading organization for art engaged wit=
h technology, seeks a Social Media Intern. This intern will help confirm and=
leverage Rhizome’s audience through platforms including Twitter, Facebook, =
Stumble Upon and also contribute suggested new ways to galvanize attention a=
round new media art. The position is 8 – 16 hours per week and can be worked=
from home or at the Rhizome office which is located at the New Museum of Co=
ntemporary Art in downtown Manhattan. The intern will report to the Director=
and the Editor to strategically promote specific events, calls, jobs and mo=
re. Applicants should be well-versed with the web and latest applications. F=
amiliarity with HTML and CSS is preferred. 

ABOUT RHIZOME
Rhizome is dedicated to the creation, presentation, preservation, and criti=
que of emerging artistic practices that engage technology. Through open plat=
forms for exchange and collaboration, our website serves to encourage and ex=
pand the communities around these practices. Our programs, many of which hap=
pen online, include commissions, exhibitions, events, discussion, archives a=
nd portfolios. We support artists working at the furthest reaches of technol=
ogical experimentation as well as those responding to the broader aesthetic =
and political implications of new tools and media. Our organizational voice =
draws attention to artists, their work, their perspectives and the complex i=
nterrelationships between technology, art and culture.
