JOB: NYU Training Specialist

University Development is currently seeking a Training Specialist to
identify, recommend, develop and implement training and information
needs regarding specialized fundraising, alumni, and general
technology and conventional off-the-shelf software for the NYU
community of faculty, administrators, students, and staff.

Key responsibilities will be to:

* Develop and deliver (online and in person) training programs on a
variety of routine and non-routine, complex applications and
technologies (e.g., BSR Advance, EMS, Content Management systems,
LAN, Meetingmaker, etc.) developed by UDAR-ITS, including conducting
seminars, training sessions and workshops, to the entire NYU
development and alumni community (faculty, administrators, students,
staff);
* Identify, analyze and evaluate training needs;
* Arrange for instructors (for off-the-shelf applications),
facilities, and materials, as required, for in-service programs;
* Prepare training course materials including determining content,
approach, and emphasis;
* Design and analyze participant assessment forms and, when
appropriate, solicit feedback from supervisors and department
managers to assess effectiveness of training programs.
* Evaluate new technology developments and trends in computing field,
including reviewing trade publications, attending conferences and
seminars on relevant topics, and meeting with vendor representatives.

To qualify, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in computer
science and 2 years relevant experience or equivalent combination.
This must include experience developing and presenting training
programs to a large, diverse constituency.

Also required are the abilities to research and forecast training
needs and plan and coordinate details related to the delivery of
training programs; excellent interpersonal, verbal and communication
skills; and demonstrated written ability.

A Certificate or Master’s degree in training in information services
and experience training in an educational or legal environment are
desirable. The ideal candidate will also have experience working with
PCs, networked environments, database, Mac software, and local area
networks as well as experience with video-conferencing and technology
in education initiatives.
