>> Regional Support Interns: WITNESS will be working with roughly 12
>> core partners in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the USA and Europe/
>> former Soviet Union. Program interns at WITNESS support the
>> program staff in their ongoing work with locally-based human
>> rights partner organizations in one of the regions listed above.

>> The position will provide opportunities to gain experience in NGO
>> management, as well as incorporate elements of the Regional
>> Support intern role in terms of preparing for trainings,

>> Video Advocacy Institute Intern: Within the program department,
>> WITNESS will also be looking for an intern to support preparation
>> for our Video Advocacy Institute (VAI). In 2007, WITNESS hosted
>> the inaugural VAI. The VAI is an intensive two-week course that
>> trains 30 human rights defenders from 24 different countries to
>> successfully integrate video advocacy into their campaigns. The
>> VAI Intern will work with the VAI Coordinator to prepare for the
>> 2009 VAI. This will include:
>> Assistance the Coordinator throughout the application process with
>> the administrative responsibilities
>> Assisting with the visa process for the participants
>> Supporting all logistical preparations for 2-week long training

>> Relevant regional experience, either academic or practical
>> Previous NGO experience (experience abroad is a plus)
>> Strong language skills relevant to the region (especially Arabic,

>> French and Karen) are key to most program internships. Native
>> speakers are generally preferred, but not required.
