POSITION DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES
The New York City College of Tech=
nology, Department of Entertainment Technology,
invites applications for =
a tenure-track, full time position in Interactive Entertainment at the
ra=
nk of assistant professor, beginning in September 2009.
The department of=
fers undergraduate instruction in a variety of disciplines, including
lig=
hting, sound, show control, and video systems. New programs in development i=
nclude
emerging media technology, music technology, interactive control, =
and video production.
The successful candidate will teach courses in seve=
ral areas including, but not limited to
Interactive Media, Entertainment =
Control Systems, Electricity, Tangible Computing, and
Introduction to Ent=
ertainment Technology. The Assistant Professor will also be expected to
d=
evelop, plan, and prepare curricula related to a program track in integrated=
and
interactive entertainment technologies.
QUALIFICATION REQUIRE=
MENTS
Qualifications for the rank of assistant professor include a termin=
al degree in a field related
to interactive media systems, and significan=
t experience in both design and technical
implementations. Media related =
software engineering experience and excellent
communications skills are e=
ssential. Candidates should provide evidence of creative,
professional, a=
nd scholarly activity with adequate documentation of productions,
publica=
tions, research, and curriculum materials.
