We seek a Javascript Developer who enjoys pushing the limits of their craft=
in
a truly unique and privileged environment. The position requires daily
interaction with the marketing and product development teams in New York. =
This
role will be responsible for the development of innovative user interfaces,
feature enhancements and other compelling applications for premier luxury
brands and advertisers. There will be a strong preference for candida=
tes
with a background developing modular components for large-scale web
applications that extensively leverage AJAX,
JavaScript libraries, and web services. The ideal candidate will be a=
ble
to demonstrate an adherence to best practices in their work regarding brows=
er
compatibility, maintainability and code reuse.
You will work with a highly experienced team of designers and developers
helping to build a cutting-edge technology platform to lead our company thr=
ough

Responsibilities
• Implement modular widgets, applications and other
front-end components in Javascript as well as other technologies such as XH=
TML,
CSS, XML, JSON and microformats
• Develop high-volume traffic websites
• Take client requests and analyze needs to create =
fast
loading, clear and creative solutions for business to consumer websites
• Optimize pages for cross-browser and cross-platfo=
rm
compatibility
• Troubleshoot JavaScript bugs and optimize existin=
g
codebase
• Follow coding conventions and recommend new stand=
ards
• Collaborate with UI Designers, Software Developer=
s
and Product Marketing managers
Requirements
• JavaScript 1.0 and above
• Proficiency with Javascript libraries, preferably=
YUI
and JQuery
• Fluent in event-driven programming techniques
utilizing AJAX,
callbacks, and closures
• Strong DOM manipulation and form handling skills
• Experience creating or consuming web services
• Exceptional cross-browser debugging expertise
• Ability to write semantic XHTML markup
• Familiar with using CSS for table-less layouts
• Superior attention to detail
• Professional demeanor and strong work ethic
• Time-management and work prioritizing skills
Strong pluses include:
• Photoshop CS
• Familiarity with PHP or Ruby on Rails
• Knowledge of Flash 8 or above
• Ability to write and update design specification
documents
• Database experience with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL
