Position 1:

TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGER (CONTRACT – L.A. Based):

Overview:

Employer is an award-winning strategic design company that creates web businesses, branding solutions and software. Their clients are top shelf. They are looking for a Technical Project Manager, freelance, for a 3-month gig, with the possibility of turning into a salaried position. Ideally someone with client experience in addition to the other requirements.

Specifics:

The Technical Project Manager is responsible for managing the daily activities of large-scale software development projects. He or she will interact heavily with the development team, design team, project management team, and clients in order to plan iterations and releases, allocate resources, mitigate risk, manage scope changes, define processes and ensure that the team adheres to these processes, oversee quality assurance, and ultimately ensure a timely and quality delivery.

It is imperative that a Technical Project Manager has several years of hands-on professional programming experience, as well as Technical Project Manager experience.

The environment is HTML, CSS and Flash on the front end and Java, PHP/Python on the back. Candidate needs to be strong on the front end and with a strong grasp of the back end tech.

Required:

* At least 5 years experience in the interactive agency or software development industry, including hands-on programming experience, and Technical Project Manager experience.

* 4 year degree, preferably in Computer Science, or similar.

* Excellent organization, verbal & written communication skills.

* Excellent people skills.

* Technical Project Managers will be client-facing, and must be comfortable speaking within the internal team, as well as with clients.

* A solid understanding of the entire lifecycle of web development projects, as well as software development methodologies.

* Knowledge of project management principles and processes.

* Willingness to travel as needed.

* A team player, willing to work hard and think creatively.

Position 2:

TECHNICAL LEAD (CONTRACT – L.A. Based)

Overview:

Employer is an award-winning strategic design company that creates web businesses, branding solutions and software. Their clients are top shelf. They are looking for a Technical Lead, freelance, for a 3-month gig, with the possibility of turning into a salaried position.

Specifics:

The Technical Lead is responsible for the life cycle for high complexity projects including but not limited to: research and analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, training, and documentation – following and evolving the company’s standards and procedures. Technical Leads will work primarily with software engineers and client-side developers (HTML, CSS, JS, Flash), but experience or exposure to other server-side technologies is a definite plus. In addition to Technology staff, the Technical Lead will work across the entire project team, interacting with a cross-disciplinary team consisting of interaction designers, visual designers, quality assurance, and project managers to lead the implementation of fully functional websites and applications for our clients using above technologies. The day-to-day work will also entail heavy client and vendor contact. Some travel to clients may be required.

Requirements:

* 3 – 5 years of development experience
* Must have led large-scale development
* Direct experience with e-commerce applications
* Strong understanding of highly-interactive web sites and applications
* Strong knowledge of client-side development (HTML, CSS, java_script, Flash)
* Strong knowledge of server-side development technologies (Java/J2EE, Django/Python, RoR etc.)
* Project management skills
* Knowledge of agile development best practices

Desired:

* 3+ years agency experience
* Knowledge of web analytics (Omniture, WebTrends, etc.)
* Experience with ad delivery and campaign management
* Experience with community-driven web applications and user-generated content
* Experience with ATG
* Understanding of content, workflow and data modeling
* Experience with SOAP and/or REST web services and service-oriented architectures
* Knowledge of hosting environments (Unix, Linux and/or Windows)
* Direct experience with ECM/WCM systems (Teamsite, Alfresco, or others)
