Responsibilities:
=95 Researches, proposes, designs, implements and main=
tains programming  
and other technical solutions for BAM/PFA’s onli=
ne presence including  
website, blog, online databases, e-commerce =
and social media.
=95 Provides technical support for all aspects of the website from=
back-
end databases to client-side scripts to dynamic data exchanges. =95 Analy=
zes existing programs or works to formulate logic for new  
systems,=
devises logic procedures, prepares flowcharting, performs  
coding,=
data analysis and tests/debugs programs.
=95 Supports and modifies the back-end dat=
abases including mySQL,  
including making changes to fields, calcul=
ations, tables, layouts and  
scripts.
=95 Creates automated solutions for b=
atch processes and Internet data  
exchanges using standards and pro=
tocols like RSS and other XML formats.
=95 Provides programming solutions for museum=
projects including  
exhibitions that include Internet or digital m=
edia components, media  
management projects and other projects as a=
ssigned.
=95 Provides access to, manages, and preserves media assets, including &nbs=
p;
images, audio, video, multimedia, and text, and supports the databases=
 
and systems that serve these functions.
=95 Collaborates with curators, a=
rtists, vendors, and other digital  
media staff to develop and impl=
ement a wide variety of technical  
components for online activities=
, public programs and exhibitions.
=95 Gathers and analyzes data to prepare system=
s and programming  
documentation.
=95 Serves on museum’s Digital Media team=
and the cross-departmental  
Web team.

Qualifications:
=95 Highly de=
veloped knowledge of, and experience with web  
applications, web pr=
ogramming languages, Internet protocols, and  
object oriented progr=
amming concepts.
=95 Demonstrated skills with compilable programming language such a=
s C+
+ and scripting languages such as PHP or Perl.
=95 Familiarity with content=
management systems such as Joomla,  
WordPress, or Movable Type. =95 Strong=
self-motivation and ability to learn new technologies  
quickly and=
independently.
=
=95 Must be able to communicate technical information in a clear and=
 
concise manner with non-technical colleagues, and strong interper=
sonal  
and collaboration skills.
=95 Ability to prioritize tasks and meet m=
ultiple deadlines.
=95 Strong problem solving skills and creativity.
=95 Strong analytical =
and design skills, including the ability to  
abstract information r=
equirements from real-world processes to  
understand information fl=
ows in computer systems.
=95 Critical thinking skills and attention to detail.

ty with the Mac platform.
=95 Accurate color perception and visual acuity.
=95 Ability to ph=
ysically work in low or tight places.
=95 Ability to safely lift computer equipment =
weighing up to 30 pounds.

This position has been designated as sensitive and may require=

Hours: This is an 80% position, with additional hours up =
to 100% as  
needed for special projects.

Salary & Benefi=
ts: The full time annual salary range is $46,200 to  
$52,000. Actua=
l pay will reflect hours worked. There is an excellent  
benefits pa=
ckage including three weeks’ vacation and benefits for  
eligible fa=
mily members.
