New Media Associate

The Hammer Museum (UCLA) seeks an experienced New Media Associate to create and maintain a website that communicates the Museum’s message, maintains and enhances the Museum’s identity, and expresses the Hammer’s position as a dynamic cultural institution. The New Media Associate will actively manage the creative content and interactive components, as well as the production and site maintenance of the Hammer Museum website. Incumbent will also create, coordinate and manage website content, and implement new ideas, concepts, updates, and initiatives. Additionally, the New Media Associate will develop and implement web solutions and suggest methods, materials and techniques for presentation on website that impact and shape the visitor experience. Other responsibilities include: managing the web production calendar for filming, recording, editing and implementing content; updating text and images using the established house style and templates via a content management system; an

d preparing and tracking budgets for all web-related projects, maintenance, and initiatives.


* Minimum 2 years experience managing a website.

* Previous writing and blogging experience, including experience using industry-standard blogging applications such as WordPress or Typepad and participation in other forms of social media.

* Skills with digital production from pre to post-production including developing new videos, shooting, and editing. Must have knowledge of post-production tools for audio/video (Final Cut).

* Proficient technical ability and knowledge of online software tools, ability to quickly master new software tools, ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues, working experience and thorough knowledge of a variety of applications including but not limited to Content Management Systems and database administration, and familiarity with HTML.
