Seeking Mid-Level User Experience Architect

Emerge Partners is looking for a talented individual to guide the agency’s User Experience and Digital Strategy practice. The User Experience Architect serves as the user advocate and is responsible for delivering compelling and intuitive user experiences across all Emerge interactive projects. By providing subject matter leadership, owning information architecture documentation and leading research and discussion on the state of the industry, the User Experience Architect creates competitive advantage, enabling the agency to challenge and exceed client expectations while becoming a thought leader in the industry.

The User Experience Architect coordinates with the Strategy, Creative and Technology groups to define the content, architecture and functionality of websites and interactive products, and contributes to the growth of the User Experience practice at Emerge. By working closely with the Strategy, Creative and Technology groups, the User Experience Architect ensures the end-user is consistently represented throughout the project life cycle, reconciling business objectives with user needs.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The User Experience Architect will have the following responsibilities:

Create, maintain and improve Information Architecture documents (sitemaps, wireframes, heuristic evaluations, personas, user flows, etc) and contribute to the process of continually refining the documentation the agency produces
Assist the Strategy and New Business groups in the research and development of point-of-view documents, pitches, presentations, etc.

Work with Strategy, Creative and technology groups to produce outstanding user-centered products

Provide insight into best practices, tactics and technologies for creating consumer engagement through social media

Work directly with clients to provide outstanding interactive solutions

Other responsibilities as required.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

The User Experience Architect is expected to have the following skills and abilities:

2+ years experience creating traditional Information Architecture artifacts such as wireframes, sitemaps, user flows, personas, conceptual models, etc, as well as proficiency in the tools used to create them (OmniGraffle, Visio, InDesign, Excel)

Experience conducting heuristic evaluations

Experience doing primary and secondary research as well as persona creation

Deep understanding of Web technology, specifically document markup and application architecture (XHTML, Flash, XML, CSS, MVC, DOM, Web Standards)

Familiarity with human information-seeking behavior

Fierce user advocacy

Excellent writing ability
